Migrating from Confluence DC or Server to Confluence Cloud
If you and your team are moving from Confluence Data Center (DC) or Server to Confluence Cloud, you’re probably wondering how that affects your Balsamiq.
The good news is that the process is very easy. As long as you have the Balsamiq integration installed on your Confluence Cloud instance, and your migration plan includes attachments, your Balsamiq Projects should be migrated seamlessly. Our modern Confluence Integrations all use the same file format, meaning our Confluence Cloud integration will be able to read your Confluence wireframes without issue.
If some of your pages were made with our legacy Balsamiq Mockups for Confluence integration, their wireframes are stored as .bmml attachments (the wireframes themselves), each with a mockup_[name].png image (its preview). Make sure your migration plan brings both across. On Confluence Cloud, a page that has .bmml attachments and no .bmpr yet shows the legacy preview under a dark bar that reads "Legacy wireframes". Edit the page and click the pencil icon in that bar (Migrate to Balsamiq Wireframes): it converts all of the page's legacy wireframes into one Balsamiq project, a .bmpr attachment. Do this on each page that has legacy wireframes. The icon shows only while you're editing the page, with an active license for the app.
Of course, if you run into any questions or issues during your migration (including BMML to BMPR conversion), please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.
What will be different?
